While switching over from a plasma to LED which is fast replacing the LCDs in the market, as a buyer, it is natural for you to have a hesitation especially when you have a deeper look and take a deep breath to assimilate the fine print of prices; nonetheless, in the current times, initial investments alone do not determine the buying behavior of a product. You would also want to have a look at the estimates that are given in terms of the recurring costs particularly the energy bills which you have to dish out every month.
It especially comes hard on you for in a TV you pay even when you do not use it consumes power even when it is kept at a standby mode; of course you may tend to save if you and all your members in the family have a uniform habit of switching it off when not in use but obviously you know well that is not the case. If you concede this you would be wise enough to switch from the power guzzler of plasma TVs which are known to drain your pockets at least three times of an LED.
By this time you know well that LED TVs primarily fall into premium segment category and if you are conscious of the price then your ideal choice would be Samsung’s LED UN40c6300. The UN40C6300 is often compared and in fact confused with its counterpart Samsung UN40B6000 from the same stable of Samsung. It may be advantageous for the customers to know the superiority of this model. It has a higher contrast ration at 4,000,000:1 as against 3,000,000:1 for UN40b6000. It has better sound technology because it has woofer. It has a picture in picture (PIP) feature. Samsung might have discontinued the manufacture of UN40B6000 series as only refurbished units are available in Amazon.

Advantages and disadvantages
- Amazing picture quality especially when compared with SonyEx500 but provided you are willing to settle for a lower screen size. Sony’s screen size is 46″. While smaller in screen size, it scores on this count as picture is easier on your eyes. Again compared with it, changing of channel is much quicker. The remote control is very intuitive and feels lighter.
- But the screen is reflective and do not mesh up well in fast scenes; the color schemes are intuit. While there are no issues on blurring yet there artifacting issues abound.
- There is no uniformity on the issue of screen which seems to be a perennial problem with all LED models. As a result, both the bottom right and left tend to bloom with the light.
- The connectivity is good but side ports are indented too far.
- The audio quality is good but the menu is leggy.
For whom
From affordability point of view, the price could be considered advantageous but for the features it is overpriced. However, many customers seem to like this on this count as it serves to be a standby TV for those who are affluent and those who have unique gift ideas for it would bring in gratuitous smiles in the faces of the receivers.
